On 11/2, gator was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. My heart sank. How can a 5 yr old have such a terrible disease. After a lot of soul searching, and researching the treatment options as well as combing the tri pawds site- we decided amputation was the best choice. He had the surgery today. And we hope we can see him tomorrow. I have to admit that I feel guilt for having put him through this, but I find solace that it will end his pain. I know we have a rough road ahead and I can’t wait to experience the joy with him that many members have shared on this site post amputation.
Welcome! How is Gator doing?

Gator is home and resting. He is doing better than I would have ever imagined. He manages to get up on the couch just like old times. Tomorrow he starts him chemo treatment. I am still concerned about the bruising he has around his groin area and hind legs. He also has a small bump that feels like a swollen vein in his back foot. I am hopeful the vet will say it is nothing to worry about.
Yay Gator! I’m happy to hear your recovery is going well other than that bruising (do visit our Forums for more support from folks, that’s the big hangout you know).
Please tell your folks to publish a new blog post so we can read all about you. Hope you have a good week.
